About
An Amplify World Premiere by Tina Fakhrid-Deen, an Amplify Series Three winner, is a satirical fantasy blending a game show and real life. This uproarious story centers a cohort of Black academics at a predominantly white institution (PWI) who discover one amongst them is "passing" as Black. What follows is a chaotic unraveling: mutiny breaks out, panic ensues, and ultimately, fatal consequences—but not before some resort to a well-timed shuck and jive in a desperate bid for survival. How is Blackness defined or performed, and who holds the power to grant a 'Black pass'?
